So this is where I am at, I think it will be ok with the new rear extension. I was not comfortable with just two roof rails so some bow lines and the rear stabilizing bar should be good. I had to get a Rhino Rack riser for the rear bar on the Yakima Long Arm to get some more height because the Big Catch saddles raised the hull 9". I have a mast and two light outriggers besides the main hull. I also have these heavy duty Yakima Big Catch saddles I forgot to take a pic of, with the main hull at 130lbs with all the stuff and the total weight 240lbs I needed better saddles than foam and air will pass through these.

So this may look like a normal house but it is in a very very expensive area. Most people around there have several mucho expensive cars in the driveway. I go past here to get to a trailhead I like. I always forget to take a pic, this guy has an older Taco/ MINT Nissan truck. Can anyone guess the car (FD RX7?). House in this area like that, north of 4 million easy. No idea what is in the garage, always looks like this. There is an older 80s Toyota truck parked on the street near it, I have assumed it was his too.

Those wheels look weird on that Nissan.

Who here hasn’t said their dream car garage was a 2004 Tacoma TRD , a 1990 Nissan hard body and an FD RX7.

Yeah, whoever this is has the money to do whatever they want, the truck looks like it was completely restored, I mean not many people would do that to an old Nissan truck. 80's plate, PLAYBOX haha.

Y eah for the likes of us, this neighborhood is mostly brand new cars all the time, there are several new electric Audis etc.. Though it’s hard to tell, there are a lot of gates and closed garages. Based on the cars I see around there could be quite a few classics. I really wonder what is in this guys garage.

I saw an MGB GT in a garage totally stripped down at the bottom of this hill actually. There are so many E Types around here I don’t think I see the same ones twice, it’s possible.

240 pound kayak? That’s insane!  I thought it was heavy with my 2 65 pound kayaks. I just rock mine on the crossbars with no bow lines. Two straps over each to the bars and it’s very secure.

Well it’s only 130lbs as a kayak, it’s also a trimaran sailing kayak with pedal drives.

Yeah I used to have a different boat, we rented one of these at Tahoe and I sold mine the second I got back. It’s nice because you can use just the kayak in places like esteros here in CA and if you want to go somewhere more open you have a sail and the Hobie pedal drives are amazing. They looks weird and are designed after penguins wing flippers. They are smooth and very fast, you can also push the pedals apart and they go almost flat against the hull for a very shallow draft. I have hurt my shoulders a few times in the military so the pedals are great, I hate paddles.

I really want to try out a pedal drive kayak. Everyone seems to love them. Hands free would be nice while kayak fishing.

Just get a Hobie, they are usually more money but I learned my lesson. You might find a used one. Although I looked for used Tandem Islands and found they have a Toyota tax resale value so between that and the fact that they had updated the boat recently with good features... I had to buy it new but I get a fresh warranty. The propeller drives get gummed up on stuff and your draft is always terrible. The Hobie is so smooth and you can switch to reverse as well with the pull of a cable. I will never go back.
